Join us at The Horse & Groom on September 5th for our end of summer sizzler, featuring none other than special guest Danny Howells.
Danny doesn't fit into the standard dance music paradigms. With a reputation as "the DJs' DJ", he has remained stoic in the face of ever-shifting trends and fads in dance music since he broke through into the global house music consciousness in the late-'90s. He doesn't churn out productions to "remain relevant", instead only releasing music as and when inspiration strikes. He's not a publicity hungry, social media devotee. He's not someone who feels the need to reinvent himself with new monikers or side projects, nor someone who aggressively pursues a maxxed-out DJ'ing schedule. Quietly ploughing his way through the house music continuum, he has remained one of the world's most captivating selectors precisely because of these organic means. That and his impeccable selection, distinctive style and silky mixing, of course. He has compiled mix compilations for the likes of Balance, Renaissance and Global Underground. Danny remains busy in the studio and most recently he has been releasing on labels such as Manjumasi, Bedrock, 8bit and Selador.
But it doesn't stop there you luvlies, as we’ve also secured the services of Sean Harvey!
Known for delivering a steady stream of deep, twisted-tech and progressive cuts, he has carved out an original sound that continues to earn support from dance music heavyweights including John Digweed, Sasha, Guy J, Anthony Pappa, Nick Muir and Spencer Brown. Sean is a prolific procucer, with regular releases on respected labels including Keep Thinking, Plastic Fantastic, Forensic, Little Helpers, Mango Alley and more. His music has resonated on dancefloors worldwide — from Melbourne to Buenos Aires and back home in the UK — with regular features on shows such as John Digweed’s Transitions, firmly establishing his reputation as a distinctive voice in underground electronic music.
Rounding things off, the legend that is Nick Muir will be gracing the CDJs once again, bringing his unique blend of high octane progressive house to no doubt take the roof off the venue once again! Stage One founders and residents @thegrantmckay & @industrystandardevents will also be easing you into proceedings, setting the scene for your aural pleasure.
